Ministry of Education speaks out for classes in Ecuador

President Guillermo Lasso signed decree 741 and with it activated the death cross and dissolved the National Assembly this Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
After the announcement made by Lasso, on a national chain, the Ministry of Education ruled on the development of face-to-face classes on a national scale.
On the Twitter of the public institution it is detailed that " face-to-face classes are maintained normally" .
The State portfolio indicated that it is in contact with the National Police in the event of the need for a "change of modality" and that this decision will be reported immediately through official channels.
President Guillermo Lasso activated cross death
Through a national network, President Guillermo Lasso informed Ecuadorians of the activation of the death cross and with it the dissolution of the National Assembly.
Decree 741 signed by the Head of State details that the death cross is activated in the context of a serious political crisis and internal commotion. On this, it is determined that the National Electoral Council convenes legislative and presidential elections within a maximum period of seven days.
After this announcement, the Conaie and the UNE reacted on their social networks, where they called for unity and extraordinary meetings to adopt de facto measures.
For their part, the high military and police leaderships spoke in favor of the decree signed by the President and indicated that they will respect what the Constitution mandates.
