The Colombian Institute for Educational Evaluation (ICFES) announced a measure that will impact all public and private school students across the country who must take the Saber 11 secondary education state exam on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
In order to optimize logistics and ensure that all registrants have timely access to information, the ICFES announced that the exam notice will not be sent to students' email addresses , as in previous cases. Instead, each person must check the exam individually on the official ICFES website.
What does the Saber 11 exam assess?
This standardized test is the primary instrument for assessing the quality of secondary education in Colombia and is an essential requirement for access to higher education. It consists of five tests that measure competencies in:
Critical reading
Math
Social and civic
Natural sciences
English
Along with the Saber 11 calendar A test, the Icfes will also administer the Pre Saber exam, designed as a simulation for students who are not yet in 11th grade but want to familiarize themselves with the test format, and the validation of the academic baccalaureate, aimed at adults who wish to obtain their baccalaureate diploma.
The results of these tests will be available starting October 17, 2025 , according to the ICFES. The agency emphasized the importance of each applicant checking their appointment in advance to avoid any inconveniences on the day of the test.
