Michael Couch

A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Couch brings over a decade of experience in higher education, including roles in financial aid, student affairs, and enrollment management. He is committed to creating inclusive, student-centered environments and removing barriers that hinder student success. His work emphasizes proactive advising, strategic partnerships, and data-informed practices to support student retention and academic achievement. Couch holds a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University, a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Western Michigan University, and an Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University. He is an award-winning student affairs professional with experience across diverse institution types—including community colleges, four-year public and private universities, and Minority Serving Institutions. His areas of focus include college affordability, equity in access, and leadership development for underrepresented student populations.

Capstone:

Literature Review on perspectives on enrollment projections and forecasting from various enrollment management resources and how both must be incorporated into your SEM planning.
