The 2017–18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) season will begin earlier than previous FAFSA application cycles

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

Since June, ̽»¨Â¥ Consulting Team Members Stan Henderson and Tomikia LeGrande have been meeting with various ̽»¨Â¥ members and leadership groups to gather input on the direction of ̽»¨Â¥ as part of the development of a new strategic plan. On September 11, 2020, Stan and Tomikia will meet with the ̽»¨Â¥ Board of Directors to discuss their findings from the various focus groups and listening sessions with the membership and ̽»¨Â¥ staff. The consultants will also work with the Board of Directors to develop goals for the new strategic plan based on the findings.  Join ̽»¨Â¥ President Jack Miner and Vice President at Large Tim Amyx for an update on this process and next steps.
