Accelerating LERs: The New Driver of Enrollment and Student Success

September 23, 2025

September 23, 2025 | 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM ET

Enrollment growth and student success are now tied to how institutions connect learning to careers. Learning and Employment Records (LERs) have emerged as a critical driver in this shift, capturing both academic progress and experiences beyond the classroom in ways that resonate with employers, accreditors, and students.

This session will highlight how a leading HBCU, a large online institution for adult learners, a major public research university known for innovation, a regional university building a credentialing ecosystem, a Midwest university focused on applied learning, and a national organization supporting HBCUs are accelerating their use of LERs.

From issuing digital badges to validating prior learning and embedding work-based experiences, these institutions are leveraging standards like Open Badges 3.0 and the Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR 2.0) to make learning visible, scalable, and workforce-relevant.

Attendees will see how LERs are shaping institutional strategy, supporting enrollment growth, and driving student success, while gaining practical insights for launching or expanding LER initiatives on their campuses.
