Professional development often requires funds, whether it be to travel to an ̽»¨Â¥ meeting, or funds to pursue research and projects. ̽»¨Â¥ is constantly seeking to enrich opportunities for our members. Apply to one of our scholarships today. 

The Conner Scholarship

One of the top reasons our members can't attend our Annual Meeting is due to a lack of institutional financial support. But it doesn't have to be that way - apply for the Conner Fund for a chance to receive complimentary registration to our largest event of the year, gaining the opportunity to learn, network, and develop. 

With up to only ten slots available out of 18,000 members, the Conner Scholarship is highly selective.

Grant and Scholarship applications open August 1 to December 31.

Criteria
Conner Scholarship recipients must be:
  • employed by an ̽»¨Â¥ member institution, or
  • a student studying/working at a member institution
Evaluation Process
The Awards Committee will review applications for:
  • strength of personal statement
  • strength of references
  • engagement with ̽»¨Â¥
  • diversity as defined by geographic region, institutional size and type, and gender, race, ethnicity, and demonstrated leadership characteristics of applicant
the Awards committee will give preference to first time attendees
Application Process
Applicants must submit:
  • a personal statement up to 300 words describing:
    • why you have chosen enrollment and academic services as your profession as well as
    • the personal and professional benefits of the scholarship to your position, department, and institution
  • at least one letter of reference from an active ̽»¨Â¥ member, preferably a supervisor
  • a resume/CV highlighting work done in the enrollment and academic services field
THE AWARDS COMMITTEE WILL ONLY CONSIDER APPLICATIONS CONTAINING ALL THREE COMPONENTS

 


History

John Douglas Conner was named the first Executive Director of ̽»¨Â¥ in 1966 and served until his retirement in 1988. Prior to ̽»¨Â¥ he served as the Admissions Director and Registrar at Southern Methodist University from 1953 to 1966.
