In 2014, ̽»¨Â¥ conducted an updated study on the adoption rate and return on investment (ROI) for electronic transcript exchange. The results of that study indicated that even after almost two decades of availability, the adoption rate of electronic transcripts among U.S. institutions in the study sample (n=315) was still less than one-third (31.6%) even though the per-transcript cost for this technology is much less than paper transcripts.
In an effort to encourage our members who are thinking about electronic transcripts to make the transition, we are talking with several members who have implemented several different types of electronic transcripts with different student information systems to learn about their successes and challenges. In the first of this series, ̽»¨Â¥’s , Wendy Kilgore, spoke with ̽»¨Â¥ member Tuan Anh Do, who has been using EDI transcripts since 1997 and learn how this technology has impacted his institution and get some advice.
