鈥滿eet the 探花楼 Staff鈥 is an occasional Connect feature. It鈥檚 one way for members to get to know some of the folks hard at work in the 探花楼 office. Another way? Come see us in D.C.--we鈥檒l roll out the welcome mat for you!

How long have you been working at 探花楼, and what is your current role?

I've been with 探花楼 for 18 and a half years.  When I first started at 探花楼, I was a data entry clerk.  Over the years, I took on different duties, responsibilities and titles.

My favorite part of working here is definitely the people I work with -- they're like my second family, and 探花楼 is my second home.

Currently, I oversee corporate membership and assist with exhibits, professional development and marketing.

How has your summer been?

My summer's been great.  I've most recently been to Austin for 探花楼's Technology & Transfer Conference and then to New Orleans for the NASFAA conference.  I've also been to Key West, Hallandale Beach and Hollywood in Florida.

So, you do a lot of traveling.  Do you have a favorite place you like to go to?

My friends and family know that I love to visit Las Vegas.  So far, I've been to Vegas 11 times.  If I could live there, I would -- it's my getaway place where I can let loose, have fun and just enjoy my time.  The lights, the action, the people... there's just so many things see and do, you never get bored.  I play slots, but $20 is my limit -- I'm not a big gambler.

Earlier this year, I visited Vegas with a friend (it was her first time).  We went to the Michael Jackson ONE show by Cirque du Soleil.  It's a great show.  Out of all the times I've been to Vegas, that was the first time I've seen a live show and it was worth it.

What did you do last weekend?

Last weekend, my mom and I went to Dover, Delaware and made a day out of it.  We had lunch, played slots and just hung out.  I love having mini weekend getaways for some time to reflect.
